If 2+2 published this book, you'd all be on the band wagon.

If 2+2 published the book, it wouldn't be chock full of misinformation.

The price tag is a little steep, but both are proven winners in both limit and tournament play.

If McEvoy plays live limit Holdem like he recommends, then I highly doubt that he is a "proven winner"... at least at the higher limits.

....Care to elaborate where McEvoy's going wrong ? [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img]

Let me make this real clear. Two plus Two would NOT publish this book.

Here's a thread from a month ago that I started with some of my comments on one of his CardPlayer articles. You can find more criticisms of McEvoy if you search the archives.

While TJ and tom are "proven tournament winners", this has very little to do with their effectivness as teachers. Magic Johnson was a great basketball player, but a bad coach. Pat RIley is one of the best coaches of all time, yet was only a better than average player. Nick Bolletieri is the best tennis coach in the world, yet was never a top 5 player. Oh, and Sklansky did finish 2nd in the WSOP big'un once, back when it wasn't as much a crapshoot as it is now, and I believe DS has 3 bracelets also, so I'd say he's a proven winner. Sklansky is more interested, in my opinion, in finding a way to beat a game than in actually beating it to a certain extent. The thrill of the hunt is sweeter than the meat?
