Default multi-table tips

Anyone know a thread or two with advice/tips on multi-tabling?
I can play two (pp $0.50/1 or $1/2) but maybe because it was my first try, I just don't see how anyone can do four (or six/eight. EIGHT?!?!). I'd like to get up to four but what do you do when hands overlap? I had ATo at the same time (freak occurrence) and misplayed one of them. I'm guessing multiple playable hands don't happen too much but still, is four tabling just a matter of "doing it" and getting used to it? I use pt/gt+.

Yes, I tried searching but if there are specific threads with advice/tips, I found everything but that...

1) If your VPIP is like 20%, multiple hands are like very likely to occur.

2) If your WtSD is like 30%, if you do have multiple hands going on, they most likely won't both be going to showdown.

3) Auto-action buttons are your friends.

4) Take your time, you have like 25 seconds for each action. Maybe you'll piss off some people but it shouldn't take you a ton of time to make your decision.

I'd say work your way up, you can probably handle 2. You just have to get used to it.. soon you'll see many situations that you can make a quick decision on. I think having a playable or close situation at two tables out of two is rare. If your a winning player then playing more tables with a small price of playing a litttle worse in some situations, obviously its more profitable. I would do 2 for a little, or just add 3 and see how it goes. It just takes some time to adjust. I would read this article that was in the 2+2 magazine this month, i found it interesting

Thanks both.

That article link is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for! Obviously I'll have to start reading their magazine from now on so I don't miss this kind of stuff.

This place is a damn goldmine. Now I'm sorry I spent so much time with the usenet poker group instead of coming to 2+2 a lot sooner. Oh, well...

You don't know the half of it.

This place combined with hard work and study, is worth a freaking ton of cash.

And one thing about that article:

If the decision is close, either choice is probably about the same

While this is true in one sense, the marginal decisions are what separate the winning players from the winningmore players. Work hard on making the correct decisions in marginal spots and it will pay off bigtime in the long run.

2+2 and the posters here are like arming poker troops and releasing them on an unsuspecting world; mowing down hordes of unfortunate souls having inadvertently put themselves between you and their money
