How should I deal with tight passives?
I'm whoring Crypto's right now, and now that I'm finished up the bonuses for the month I've just been playing there until my PINs come from Ecashdirect.
Something I've noticed about players on crypto, they seem to be either clearing a bonus, complete "any 2 cards, call to the river if I have overcards, etc" fish, or tight passives. I can deal with other Tight Aggresives. It's not hard to avoid them, really... But it seems like these tight passives will play premium cards preflop and then just check/call to the river regardless of what the flop is. If they hit something, they raise the river which as I'm sure you're all aware, can be frustrating when you believe you have the best hand until the river. Anyway, is there any 'trick' to playing against tight passives who only spring to life on the river if they hit? |

Re: How should I deal with tight passives?
Punish them until the river...if they hit and are unimaginative you'll know you're beat and can get out. In the long run you'll make the money of them more than they make it off you

The 'trick' postflop is to value bet less on the river and fold to their unimaginative river raises. The 'trick' to poker is learning to make these ajdustments well. |

Re: How should I deal with tight passives?
make sure they are on your left
stealing the button and blinds is easiest against TPP they don't call with nothing either if they are calling they have some sort of hand or solid draw, so to counteract you need a better hand than usual to bet for value |

Re: How should I deal with tight passives?
bet when they check
raise when they bet fold when they raise You'll become too predictable but they are too scared to change their game. (This is not meant as a solid advice. but as an idea of a playing style) |
