poor play?
No real reads. All players a tad fishy though.
Howz my play here? Should I put this down on the river? Re: poor play?
I would bet the river and fold to a raise...I think you would have heard from a strong A preflop, and probably would have heard from one on the flop if there was a better ace out there...so I'm mostly worried about hands with a K, which is sure to raise...So you can safely let this go if you get raised....

Re: poor play?
I can't see how betting the river is right. It's not likely that your oppoenent would call with a hand that you can beat.
Might as well check-call, and sometimes you'll check someone trying to bluff the river. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is okay, but if PPs have called the flop and turn, they are going to call the river, and you don't want to give up a bet you would have collected from them....You could pick up some bluffs from busted flush draws, but since they have check-called the whole way, they most likely aren't going to bet the river....Calling stations like to call, not bet...bet the river and let them do what they do... |

Re: poor play?
I would have continued betting the river, calling a possible raise. In this play you didn't lose money, but could possibly lose a bet if the Button checked. However, the play isn't bad, what did he have?

Re: poor play?
I dont like betting out here, because i would REALLY not like folding to a raise. I've seen alot more players putting in a raise on the river here with any ace to try to represent the K and push out a tie pot.
If i was button and not multitabling, id raise any ace here definitely. A check call costs you the same amount as a bet/fold, except you get to show down, and possibly induce a missed draw or low pair to bluff at it. I check call here every time |

Typical party fishes aren't going to raise this river without a K or a 5....They aren't going to bet with their pocket pairs that often...they WILL call with their PPs lots... |

Re: poor play?
I agree with you here, but I think at 3/6 I would be more inclined to check call without reads. I would hate to fold this incorrectly to one of the numerous sassy lags who would raise this river with any A, and worse.

Re: poor play?
My point is just that the lags usually find a way to raise on the following streets:
A) Preflop B) Flop C) Turn D) River If you manage to get to D) river, without a raise....then you can pretty much assume you are not up against a LAG.... |
