i play in a weekly tourny with these chips (the fab las vegas link the OP posted). my biggest problem with them is that they're really slippery. with your own labels, i'm sure they'd be not so ugly.
i recommend nexgen if you're interested in that price range. i just put together a set for my brother in law, and they rock. |

I bought my Nexgens a little over a month ago, and am completely satisfied. Labelling was a breeze, they look great, sounds great, feel great and are a huge improvement over the "suited chips" you see everywhere. I highly reccomend them for a buyer on a budget who wants something a little more unique. My only regret is that I didn't get any yellows or purples...

Nexgen may not be as far out of your budget as you think. A set of 300 will run you about 75$ shipped if u know where to get them. E-mail me for more info if you like [email protected]

Let me begin this post by saying that I must have absolutely positively no life. With that disclaimer out of the way I will be begin. I ordered my set of 9gram vegas chips off of ebay about a year ago. I ended up with 1325 chips due to an error in the ordering process. The feel of this chips is great. I love the way they sound, the way they shuffle with the rounded corners and yes I have broken a chip on purpose just to see if they are all "clay(and the answer to that question is yes)." I would agree with the poster who said these are a cheap version of bj chips. Yes they are very light, but I have gotten used to that and now playing with regular chips makes my fingers feel like they are at the gym or something as I sit there for hours on end shuffling chips(over/unders on carpel tunnel) The only thing that I didn't like about my chips is the hideous picture of the hot rod on the label. I put up with it for about a year and finally decided that was it, I needed to design a chip label for me chips. After coming up with the ideal chip label, with some help from these very forums, I was forced with the reality that I must now remove two labels from each of my 1325 chips. About 8 hours later and three somewhat small, but still painful cuts from my trusty pocketknife they were all off. The 1" round labels from onlinelabels.com worked perfect and I have a bunch left over if you want some at cost. To sum things up, I can't think of a better cheap chip for the price. pm me if you are looking for any labels Here is a copy of my red chip label [/ QUOTE ] Hey Diesel, Lets see some pictures of your chips once the new labels are on! |

i can vouch for these chips too. i have a set of 9g vegas. its funny cause i bought them from the swap meet and the guy selling them had a geniune Bud Jones chip from the New Frontier casino to compare and its pretty close.
i will remove my labels one day and put some customs on. just havent decided what yet. i agree that they are a little slick but thats because of the label and hopefully its not as bad when u put your own on. btw any labels out there with textured surfaces? |

[/ QUOTE ] I found that the labels from Lynbark (ebay) get a little bit of texture from the printing process. Probably not as much texture as you're looking for, but still better than a glossy. |

The more I sprayed my labels the more texture they had. I used a single can of "satin" krylon for ~800 chips worth of labels, I would imagine the "matte" would give more texture. If I do it again I will use two whole cans and take my time... I'll probably use satin again, I like the semigloss. If you sprayed the whole chip (PITA) you would probably end up with more protection and more texture.
