Flopped set in SB, 1 suit flop
I hate seeing this because I have been burned on it once or twice before. Table has been playing very weak tight.
Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (8 handed) converter Button (t2560) Hero (t2730) BB (t1740) UTG (t1115) UTG+1 (t1090) MP1 (t2325) MP2 (t2005) CO (t1435) Preflop: Hero is SB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG+1 calls t100, MP1 calls t100, 2 folds, Button calls t100, Hero completes, BB checks. Flop: (t500) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 players) Hero bets t600, BB folds, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, Button folds. Final Pot: t600 This is a dead end hand. I can not check here and I can not push here. Is betting the pot the only move, folding to a re-raise (unless its from a small stack)? |

Re: Flopped set in SB, 1 suit flop
Ya bet the pot, or a little less, I like 400, I wouldn't fold on this flop unless you are raised by more then one person all in, folding to a reraise is not smart imo.

Re: Flopped set in SB, 1 suit flop
Despite the flush, you still have many outs to make the boat, or 4 of a kind. That gives you 10 outs on the turn, don't know what those odds are on the flop.
Anyway, considering your chipstack, etc, I like your bet here. Button and MP1 are the only two I'd be worry about folding to at this point. |

Re: Flopped set in SB, 1 suit flop
I would bet close to the pot, and call an all in or a raise as long as it's not from multiple players. He could have As + a pair, protecting top pair, etc. Even if he's got the flush, the pot is big and I believe you're still 2:1 to beat the flush by the river.
