I don't feel any pressure regarding my win rate, and in fact, I don't remember mentioning it on these boards. I'm happy with it, that's enough.
I see a lot of posters say something along the lines of "I'm only winning 1.3 BB/100" or whatever...that's a damn fine win rate over time. I think what a lot of people fail to consider is that anything above breakeven is better than the vast majority of poker players.
As far as psychological reasons...people lie about all kinds of things, from why they broke up with their ex, to how much they make at their (regular) jobs, to how big their...err, "bankroll", is. Why? Because most people want to feel important and/or special, and very few are well enough adjusted to feel that way without regular outside reinforcement.
