Problem downloading UB update

It just wont do it. It just wont work.
I start up UB.
I get the message "it is taking a while to check for update. Continuing to check for the next 60 seconds..."
"45 seconds..."
"30 seconds..."
"15 seconds..."
Message: "The connection to the update server appears to be unavailable. do you want to try to connect again? y/n"

Ive also tried downloading from ultimatebet.com, however when i click on their download link, it never connects to their ftp server. So i dunno what to do. my computer appears to be functioning normally, so i have no idea what the problem could be. But i assume its on my end, unless nobody is playing UB anymore.

Do you have problems downloading anything else? If you have any firewall/antivirus on your computer, or security on your router, you should try disabling them and then try the download.
