$200 WSOP sat at the local Harrahs

It's a double shootout, the blind structure is just ridiculous...at least I think so. Started with 3000, blinds started at 25/25, 25/50 and then doubling everytime thereafter every 15 minutes. I'm sitting at about 15K of the 30K in play after the final break, but the blinds are 2/4. Basically, it's all about catching a hand at this point, right? Well, I didn't, pushed with QJs and was called with an inferior hand that caught an 8. Blinded out 2 or 3 hands later. Just looking for opinions on the structure, as I was planning on playing a few more of these...but probably won't now. I know, I know...I should've looked at the structure beforehand, but I didn't think a tourney playing for a seat at the WSOP would have this crazy of a setup.
