What happened to the Big Slick Club
I stopped by last night and it's locked up tight. Says the fire marshall shut it down. Is that all there is to the story?

I stopped by last night and it's locked up tight. Says the fire marshall shut it down. Is that all there is to the story? [/ QUOTE ] I have no personal knowledge, but I read this on RGP yesterday: [ QUOTE ] After being open approximately 2 months, the Bohemia, NY b&m club "Big Slick" got shut down last night. Like I told you Jason, it doesn't matter if your tables have no center cut-out where the dealer box should be. You simply cannot get around the fact that running a poker room in NY is illegal...however ridiculous that may seem. In fact, it IS ridiculous. At any rate, sorry to see it happened as you had a very nice looking & BIG place. The bottom line is this: If you piss off the wrong people, you WILL get shut down. Here are some things you may wish to consider for the future: -If you are taking time or raking your game, you do not charge your players for food and drink. For example, you charged your players $.75 for a bottle of water. That alone might have gotten you shut down. -Your dealers should be able to give your players at least 7 hands a down...even in no-limit games. Good luck in the future... -aB [/ QUOTE ] |
