Default Poker in Puerto Rico - San Juan and Mayaguez

Has anyone played Hold 'Em in Mayaguez? Also, what are the best 3 places to play on the island? I have read there are 7 total but its hard to get information online and the people at the hotels arent very helpful.

Many Thanks

The only place I know of is at the Wyndham El San Juan....they have a 5/10 game with a ridiculous rake. But 7 of the 11 players at the table are fish.

More like 10/11.

To the original poster, do a search on this forum for Puerto Rico. We've discussed this before and people have given some in depth answers.

Thanks shant, I have done a search and found some good info. I am staying on the Western part of the island and know there is a casino in Mayaguez so I wanted to see if anyone had info...

One last question -- are the games in san juan spread limit or are they just 5/10?

Thanks again for your help

Last time I was there, the Condado plaza had a 5,10 game (two tables only).

Fishiest game I have ever seen. Dealer looked at you funny if you weren't in all 10 hands in an orbit. Every flop had 8 or more people seeing it.

It's 5/10, but you can raise 10 at any point. So a PFR can be $15, and the n you can bet $10 on the flop. Man I miss that game.

You seem to turn up in the threads about the PR games quite often. Just out of curiosity, were you living there for a while? Or just on vacation once, or a few times?

I played in the game at the El San Juan when I was in PR on vacation last month. Fun times.

Non-poker content: Anyone considering a trip to PR, or specifically the San Juan area: I stayed at Hotel El Convento in Old San Juan, and it was wonderful.
