I was at Third Edition in Georgetown in Washington, DC w/ Mike Sandburg (see his NY Times article ) and his g/f and we ran into Phil Gordon. We spoke briefly, really nice guy. Mike told him he had played w/ him on Fulltilt and then Phil bought us drinks, thanking us for playing on FTP and saying "no one from Party Poker would ever do this."
Also I told him I had taken the seat at the WSOP that he busted in, and he told us that he bluffed off all of his chips. He congratulaed me for cashing. Probably not very tactful for me to say but I had been drinking.... He was in town for the ACC tournament. He went to Georgia Tech. |

Phil Gordon seems like he's a really genuinely nice guy. Good to hear you had a good time when you ran into him.
Anyway, I'm not really all that concerned about Phil Gordon. Third Edition is just a few blocks from me, so I'm just wondering, what's the place like? I've only walked by, but it seems like it's pretty nice place. |

Third's is typical G-town crowd. college kids mixed in w/some happy hour stragglers.
Always thought that place was meh. You go to Gtown and haven't been there yet? |

Yeah, I really couldn't tell you why. I always tell myself to get over there some time.
It's probably because I'm always broke from poker . |

Send a PM to Berge20. He organizes a 2+2 game every week in DC, but I haven't got any e-mails about it in a little while. I never got a chance to go, but it was usually a low-stakes game just to hang out and play against some good opposition.
