Default Down swing

Well I am on a downswing right now and it hurts. I try to stay positive but it just gets to me sometimes. I play 20-40 regularly and 40-80 on the weekends at the Mirage b/c the action is great. I am a really solid player built my way up in 2.5 years starting from 4-8. What are your suggestions on trying to break the slump and stay positive. Knowing I have people to relate to makes it a little better. Down 40 BB at 20-40 in 40 hrs.

$1600 in 40 hours of 20-40 and you call yourself solid? You should shoot yourself.

dude a 40BB downswing is nothing. i know that its still stressful, but bitching about a downswing on these forums is like a slap in the face to the rest of us who have taken the real downswings. keep playing and if it gets worse, take a break for a while and start playing online, 4tabling 3/6. thats what ive done. i took a 4k hit playing 20/40 live recently, and decided to start 4tabling at small limits until i build my confidence back up. im making a good recovery as im up about 150BBs in only a few days.

A 40BB downswing in 40 hours is really in the noise level. If you truly are a really solid player as you say, make sure you don't go on tilt, don't change your play and just ride it out.

However, I can't imagine that in 2 1/2 years of regular play you haven't experienced a drop this large before. You should expect to see type of downswing on a not-infrequent basis, and much larger ones as well.

Uh, that is nothing. I lost 45BB in 12 hours last night.

My style of play is pretty tight and tends to have quite low variance and last weekend I had a session of 20/40 where I lost 1500. Losing 1600 in 40 hours is really nothing. If that bothers you, I can't imagine how you sometimes play 40/80.

Last time I played 20-40 live ( commerce ) during the world series, I was down 1700 in the 5th inning and was up 400 by the time Boston won the game.

I think this was a sarcastic post. Perhaps making fun of the post I made about my own downswing on Party. No good/experienced player would question a swing of 40 big bets.
