Default Don\'t play $5 SnG @ UB on weekends?

I usually play these on weekdays, but this weekend I had some time to play, and so I did. Maybe it's just me, but the general level of play goes to freeroll-style.

Do you notice this as well or I just had bad luck?

i play the UB $5.50's as well, and i don't notice too much of a difference on weekends. anyway, is it really a bad thing if the play gets softer?

Well, maybe it's me... Maybe I'm not playing so well. Anyways, with the bad mood I have now, it would be useless to continue playing, it's just a recipe for disaster.

Softer would be welcome. I think the word to describe it would be "maniacal". The impression I got was that everyone had just seen poker on tv and then went to UB to play "just like the pros".

The guy that really made me lose my cool tried a bluff (going all-in) at a dry side-pot while I held top 2 pair (KQ). The guy had a pair of 3s. Turn pairs the A and I'm the bubble boy.

Yeah, I know, it's just a bad beat, move on... But that has been the kind of play I've been seeing since yesterday night, these guys must be on crack or something. Anyway, they turn the game into something so boring, I'd rather watch paint dry than play against those guys.

by the way, have you tried the new turbos? i played a bunch of them last night, and i don't like them at all. the luck factor is unbelievable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but turbos are a crap shoot, so I don't see why should I put my money on something that depends so much on luck.

yeah. i was thinking that maybe, the lower ROI from turbos could be counterbalanced by the shorter game times, resulting in a higher hourly rate overall. but no, as far as i can tell after playing a bunch last night, they really are just a crapshoot.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one.

I'm looking at the SNG structure for < $100 SNGS at stars and UB. Both start each player with 1500 in chips, and increase the blinds every 5 minutes.

ub: stars:
10/20 10/20
15/30 15/30
20/40 25/50
30/60 50/100
50/100 75/150
75/150 100/200
100/200 100/200+25
150/300 200/400+25
200/400 300/600+50
300/600 400/800+50
400/800 600/1200+75
600/1200 1000/2000+100
800/1600 1500/3000+150
1000/2000 2000/4000+200

I compared UB turbo tournaments to Stars turbo tournaments because I've played in a large number of stars turbo SNGs, and am a significant winner. Yes, my ROI is higher in the non-turbos, but non-turbos make me want to kill small furry animals, so the turbos work out better for me.

I haven't played this particular game, but maniacal is soooo easy to crush.
