When a really passive player 3-bets a turn checkraise I think that usually means he likes his hand a lot. In this hand, your checkraise represented trips, and MP2 decided he didn't care.

It sounds like you won, but I think calling down after the 3-bet is sensible.

You're getting 9:1 on the flop closing the action, which gives you a marginal call for a 5 outer (which is 8.4:1 for 1 card). The problem is that there's a 2 flush on board and 2 broadway cards, so you're in danger of hitting your hand and still losing.

You need to discount your outs ... specifically the 8d may not be good, and even if there isn't a flush draw out there you can lose to any additional diamond, 4, Ace, or potentially any broadway card. I think this hand is worth no more than 4 outs, and that's optimistic.

Also 4s and Aces will kill your 2 pair outs. Your opponent with an ace has a 8 out reddraw against you (3 fours, 2 aces, and 3 of his second hole card), which is 17% right there. Losing 17% of 5 outs brings you down to 4.1 outs. We haven't considered the flush and gutshot broadway draws that might be there, nor the other outs that other second best hands have, nor the chances that you're behind already.

These considerations push the flop decision to a fold for me. The pot isn't actually that big is what it comes down to.
