Default 77 UTG Push Decision

Home Game Tournament
Blinds 400/200, Ante 25
Average Stack: 6000
My Stack: 2650
8 Players left (top 4 pay out)

So I get dealt 77 UTG (uuugh)...I figured i had to either push or fold with this hand...i decided to push as I was the short stack and keep a very tight image with a good chance of stealing blinds or getting a race...if I fold this I am left with only 2000 after the blinds...Just wanted some opinions as to whether I should make this play or pass to make a push while in position...

Thanks for any replies!

EP makes this a fold for me. If you miss a hand to defend blinds with, you still have enough to see another rotation. You just aren't winning enough here to justify the risk, especially in a homegame.

Easy push. Folding here would be a crime.

I would have waited 1 more round before I start pushing in you still would have 5XBB after mucking 77. It's a close call, pushing isn't terrible but it is not an automatic.
