WLLH: Preflop SB Play on .01/.01 Blinds
Great board you guys have here. Thanks already for all the good info. Definitely a good place to get my feet wet, but moving on...
WLLH lists specific play for the small blind preflop, but assumes that the BB and SB are same value. At places like UltimateBet, nanolimit blinds are .01/.01. How would you go about playing from the SB with this system? My guess is to play the same as is recommended from the BB, but perhaps a bit more conservatively, as you're in worse position. Though, I'm not sure as to what hands "more conservatively" equates to. Any ideas, or am I way off? |

Wow, its been a while since I've read WLLH. Great book to start out with. You'll find in SSH that you play looser in SB and BB then in early position and middle position.
More conservatively? Just come up on the suited connectors you were playing, maybe one or two card values. Play fewer pairs, maybe down to 99. Don't play gapped connectors. Keep in mind, I'm just telling you what more conservatively comes out to given your line of thinking. If you want specifics, check out SSH. Also, there was a post here yesterday that had a link to the chart from SSH. I'll try to find the link for you. |

Re: WLLH: Preflop SB Play on .01/.01 Blinds
In a large field, the difference between acting first or second is not particularly significant. If you act second, you have a little information (how did the first person act?) but there is still much that you don't know (how will everyone else play?). I think I would play the same out of the SB as I would out of the BB, with the possible exception of loosening up my raising requirements a bit if the BB is tight and there weren't too many others in the pot.
Against raises you will generally be getting the same odds in the SB as in the BB, so I would call raises with the same hands that I would in the BB. |

Re: Link to chart
Here's the link to the chart. Please understand, that if you haven't been reading SSH, some of it might not make sense. But also keep in mind, that one starting hand chart is as good as another. (Or should be.)
