Since that first episode, however, the ratings have fallen off, in fact fallen off quite substantially. In its second week, on Jan. 20, Tilt posted a 1.34 household rating, off 18% from its premiere. In Tilt's third week, which are the last published numbers I can find, the show managed just a 0.74 household rating, down 55% from its premiere.

I don't feel like trying to look it up....but I would guess that the ratings have fallen-off even more since then.

ESPN is not promoting this show NEARLY as much as they did in the opening 3-4 weeks. Perhaps that's partly by design since they have all sorts of other stuff going on that is at the top of their promotion agenda (the NBA-analyst dream-job and now championship-week in college hoops....and for a few days in there ESPN-U).

I find it pretty likely that this show will NOT get renewed. They've had little problem ditching other shows for whatever reason including 2-minute drill with Kenny Mayne (which wasn't half-bad), Stump the Schwab (or whatever that show was called), I'll Do Anything (which I think was scrapped but am not sure).

My guess is that the ESPN-entertainment division is saying "well just chalk this one up as an experiment that didn't quite work."

But I could be wrong.

I originally thought Dream Job 1 and Around the Horn were both so terrible that they would never last.

I guarantee you that based on everything, that jack of clubs is gonna hit on the river to give Matador the nut boat and Hellmuth the straight flush.

Actually, unless I've missed it, the miracle river card is the one cheesy device they haven't used on this show yet (well, besides the time the fish made a set of 3's at the the low-limit game to crack Eddie's aces, and show what a good reader he is).

If anything, they've had too many blanks fall after the money goes in.

I really wish they would make the poker scenes more realistic.

If they were more realistic...this show would rock out with its cock out.

I wonder how much Hellmuth was paid to sport the UB hat on the show - I could clearly see the lettering on close ups during the little bit I watched at the beginning.

Have any other online sites received air time?

I agree but you left out a word...
"I lost to the friggin' crime lord!"

I love the "flashback hand" when Phil got the best of Matador.. All the money goes in on the turn:

Phil's hand: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Matador's hand: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Board: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

How dramatic that one was! 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] river... "Ole!!" lol
