Re: 1/2 6-max... so passive...still worth learning?
Just play to win, if you are winning easily, move up if you arent you have problems.
From what I remember you are a complete rock. Shorthand isnt about playing it safe you have to play a bit looser, you cant just wait for nut hands. How can you not get anything out of postflop play at any level? All you do is adapt to the competition, you cant just play the same way at every level or at every table. |

[ QUOTE ]
Ok, a player who cant win at $1/$2 cant win at any "HIGHER" level,,,,,,I never played lower than $1, excuse me for missing that out. When players fold more often when i bet out with nothing after a raise, i win more. Shorthanded is about winning alot of small pots. [/ QUOTE ] I suggest you go to the beginners forum or micro because you are totally out of your league here. You really have no idea what you are talking about. Shorthand is the same as ring you just have less opposition. All this means is that the range of hands are weaker all round. Instead of betting TPTK against 6 opponents you bet middle pair vs 2. Its not about winning small pots its about pushing your edges, sometimes you can steal small pots with a tight image. Other times you want to build a big pot with a good hand. Against weak players at 1/2 you want to showdown the best hand, they dont fold but neither do a lot of 5/10 or 10/20 players. Your strategy depends on the opposition. Against people who dont fold you showdown the best hand and win big pots, against people who fold you bluff and bet weak hands. |

If a strategy dont work at $1/$2 then it wont work at any level, [/ QUOTE ] This is certainly not true and speaks volumes about your understanding of the game. Edit: ok so this post was probably unecessary, I see others have made this point sufficiently, though it is a point that needs to be reinforced. -Brad |

interesting. What are your thoughts on the games there? [/ QUOTE ] I've played the $2/4 for a little while and it seemed good. I'm into the $3/6 for about two thousand hands now, and it's definitely tougher than the Party 1/2 game, but it doesn't seem ridiculously tough. Players are tighter and more aggressive, and I've been bluff-raised and bluff-checkraised on the turn a lot more. I definitely find myself in a lot more places where I wonder if my hand is good, which is unsettling. It's a worthwhile stop though for sure, I think. Rob |

The stars 2/4 is emminently beatable. It seems very similar to what I've observed in the party 5/10.
