Negreanu and Jesus
From Dan Negreanu's website. Allegations of blasphemy or not? What do you think?
"Well, I'm not so sure about that. First of all Barry doesn't believe in Heaven, Hell, or God for that matter. He is a proud atheist along with Chris Ferguson. Both men mocking the idea that there is a God claiming that there is no contemporary evidence to prove Jesus' existence. I remember talking to Chris Ferguson about it one night and he looked at me like I was delusional. I was trying to explain to him that calling himself Jesus, especially considering his beliefs, is very offensive to the majority of this country." |

Re: Negreanu and Jesus
The NFLs immaculate reception from the Superbowl years ago is offensive to many people too, yet it is still widespread and replayed many times each year.
His nickname is Jesus because he looks like what people think jesus looked like, big deal. |

And if there is a God, a Jesus, an All-Mighty, then I am quite sure he would have a sense of humor about Chris Ferguson's nickname. I mean, if God is all-poweful, then logic dictates he would have the best sense of humor, too, no? |

Re: Negreanu and Jesus
Chris Ferguson, like many prominent people, didn't chose his nickname . Others take care of that.
As an atheist, I was heartened to see that Barry Greenstein has donated large amounts of money to charity, eschewing those with a religious bent. As he said in an interview, he wants to feed, clothe and put a roof over poverty stricken kids' heads, without trying to proselytize to them. There is a belief among some people that an atheist can't at the same time be a moral and kind person. Of course this is untrue, and people like Barry help confirm that. Frank |

I always felt like casinos and poker rooms were sanctuaries for making fun of Christians. Isn't gambling a sin? It is kinda like making fun of the Amish on TV.

Re: Negreanu and Jesus
Too bad religion is a joke and a crutch for the weak who are afraid that there may not be an afterlife.
