table etiquette, side bets
Last night I was playing at harrah's in council bluffs, 5/10 with a kill.
Two players were making side bets on whether the flop would come black or red, i.e. 2 black or 2 red or what have you, and generally not making a big deal about it, since they were sitting next to each other they were just passing $1 back and forth. They were both on my left. Then this lady on my right wanted in on the "action" and started making the bet as well. Now I got really uncomfortable as she was reaching across me and not paying attention to the action to her pre-flop and on the flop, more concerned about the side bet than the pot. Several times as I was trying to look at my cards she knocked my arm and almost exposed my cards. Needless to say I didnt think the bet was legal in the first place, but the two guys doing it weren't making an issue of it, however, when the lady joined in she made it a huge deal and slowed down the game and generally was an annoyance to me as well. I guess my question is, is there anything I could have / should have done? Has anyone ever had this experience? |

Re: table etiquette, side bets
PROP BETS RULE! Unless they confuse the dealer. TIn that case you have to stop and that sucks.

Re: table etiquette, side bets
Trade seats with the lady unless you really liked your position relative to her.
