Re: How come so many people play on Party Poker?
[ QUOTE ]
I've noticed on 2+2 there is a huge number of players who play online, especially at party poker. My question is why??? I've sat there and watched the $3-6 tables and from what I could tell, it was a pretty tight group of players, some rocks and some TAGS- NOT a game that promotes a lot of profitabilty. Plus the pots were freakin tiny. $10, $15, $9 pots were quite common. Now, when I go to my local casino, the pots can get downright HUGE and the action is juicy which i love. Sure the swings can be rough, but when you catch a rush, the profit is unreal!!!! [/ QUOTE ] The rake at most B&M games in addition to the toke and the rather sizable liquor tab i acquire when playing live 3/6 make the game even more difficult to beat. In addition, i dont 17-21% of my rake back. In addition, if i want good game selection for a 4K bankroll, im going to play the 3/6 online, but if i want a good mid stakes game to take a shot at, im going to play 10/20 live. peace john nickle |

Re: How come so many people play on Party Poker?
i'm willing to sacrifice a little in terms of max EV if it means getting 4 times as many hands per hour. playing one table verse playing 4 (or 8) is like the difference between walmart and a mom and pops store. the mom and pops store may have the best produce in town, but walmart makes way more money. why? volume.

Re: How come so many people play on Party Poker?
Well, most of this has been said but...
More hands / hour Smaller rake (made smaller still by rake back) No tokes No dealer mistakes / angle shots Don't have to commute No waiting lists Better game selection Don't have to sit next to people Can play as long or as short as you want without worring about all that commute / wait time you have invested easy to switch tables better game variety easier to track your own play and look for leaks MTT and S&Gs I'm sure there are more. |
