Down to 30, top 6 pay same amount -- strat adjustments??
I did a search for "satelite" in the forums and didn't find anything that would help me answer my somewhat generalized question.
How should I adjust my play from always trying to be patient, yet get first place? I'm thinking I need to try and maintain an average stack while eliminating players for a good price. Avoid big stack conflicts as doing an AK vs QQ coinflip for 60% of the chips in play is not optimal. |

Very, very dependant on all sorts of factors. Your stack size, opponents stack size, how the table is playing, are there players at the table givinig up blinds at will? With 30 players left, things become very read-dependant.
Speaking in general terms though, I would continue trying to risk as little as possible while maintaining the avg. stack as you suggested. Then, with about 13-15 players left, I'd go apesh*t for an orbit against any stack that I have covered. Stealing and re-stealing with any two cards. With a flat structure like this, my experience is that people are even MORE averse to going out on the bubble than in regular MTT play. Make it through that and you should have a stack that will allow you to get into the final 6 with little effort. |

So pepsquad you tend to build the stack you need to secure a top 6 spot at your 2 table mark rather than busting people at the final?
Say you are one coinflip away... or what will probably be one "gamble" away... you try to take it at 8 handed 2 tables? I'm asking this because although I had been playing the tournament for a while, I got moved into a fresh table where I had little to no reads and a structure that demanded action, average stack was 10bb so short stacks were clawing their way about for a right to stay at the table. |
