Yeah, I misread that he would turn his hands over first. In this case you want to wait for a bigger advantage, such as him turning over A2o, and you having AA.

Playing AA vs 72 here is just ridiculous, as its only 88% favorite. [/ QUOTE ] That is ridiculous... |

All hands are +EV, and the money is not significant. Call any hand where you are ahead. That is my reasoning. I konw if I was playing a headsup freezeout for 1 dollar with blinds of .0000001 / .0000002 in the same situation, I would call with any hand where I was ahead. [/ QUOTE ] There is no rematch, hence with blinds at a $1/$2 level it clearly makes most sense to look for the most +EV scenario to double up through your opponent. For instance, the 94o is a ~64% favorite over the 72o. 64% of the time you will double up through your opponent and win close to a billion dollars, but 36% of the time you will lose and never get this head-up match again. Compare that kind of +EV to waiting a few thousand hands for a better advantage like KK vs. K2o suit-dominated. The correct amswer is to play all hands IF AND ONLY IF you get rematches. Since there is only one match, it thus becomes most profitable in the situation DS described to wait it out for KK vs. K2o or something very close. |

77 v 72 is better than KK v K2. While it normally has a lower +EV, most of it comes from split pots which are not a big concern here as you will still be left with your huge edge in those situations. What 77 v 72 gains is not losing to the 2-6 straight so it has more wins per loss.

You want THE #1 EV spot. With 100's of millions of hands happening, you can wait for JUST the perfect moment. Barron Vangor Toth www.BarronVangorToth.com |
