I have taken some of the advice that was posted here. I am applying to grad school and then I'll figure out what to do next from there. Sorry if you think I'm an idiot, but I assure you I'm not, maybe an [censored], but an idiot - I don't think so.

Yeah, but eventually the dog will die...and he'll be back on this board posting about his emptiness.

This has got to be one of the more diverse threads I've read on 2+2... depression, alcohol, religion, god, pot-limit poker, dogs, banging out chicks, even RPG's and RTS's! Strange evolution...

It makes me wonder whether this is a feeling that strikes a chord with a lot of online poker players.

Life is hard when you are not needed.

You had a goal, and you attained it. I did the same. And then I didn't know what to do because I never thought I'd achieve that goal. Drinking gets boring. If you haven't found that out already, you will.

If you don't know what you want to do, figure out what you DON'T want to do. If you enjoy what you do every day, you are ahead of 95% of everybody else. I don't know if graduate school is worth a damn, but if nothing else it's positive.

I look at gambling as a financial cushion for what I really want to do. So ask yourself what it is you really want to do. With a little cushion, you can most likely do it.

If you play too much poker and that's all you do you will burn out and no matter how much you win, you will feel empty. It sound like you want more in life, and playing cards all day doesnt cut it. Atleast you got a way to make money while you look for something else.

I was in the same boat as you. Got out of college, owe massive debts, and was flat broke. Poker made me lots of money, then i feel empty because that's all I got. Then I say [censored] it, i got to keep [censored] balance. So I went traveling, got new hobbies like snowboarding, karate, and constantly meeting new people. As soon as I buy a house, I will be travelling the globe while playing poker online for a couple of years. Now I love poker and because of this love I play better and make more money. Life is great. It all depend on what you want buddy.
