Ed Miller is a Failure as a Poker Pro
By his own admission:
Of you folks who actually pay your bills by playing poker... I don't anymore. I did for about a year. Why did you choose Vegas over CA? (Or visca versa) I chose Vegas primarily because it is much cheaper than LA. Why live rather than online? Because playing online makes me want to puke. My impression seems to be that Vegas and Live play are the pros choice. Most "pros" I know who make any kind of real money play mostly online. One reason I chose to write books is because I was unhappy with the income I was making playing $15-$30 and $20-$40 live. And no matter how many times I tried, I couldn't force myself to play online regularly. <font color="green"> I am glad that Ed has found a more rewarding career: writing books. Re: Ed Miller is a Failure as a Poker Pro
What are you talking about?
Ed was quite succesful as a full time poker player. His opportunity costs forced him in a different direction however. |

Being able to make more money doing something else does not make him a failure.

He never said he was a failure, he said he was "a failure as a poker pro"...

Re: Ed Miller is a Failure as a Poker Pro
If you dont have the work ethic and you dont love to play the game I think it is very difficult to make poker a long-term career no matter how smart you are.

Re: Ed Miller is a Failure as a Poker Pro
You are right. Elsewhere, Ed has said he doesn't like to play more than 8 hours a day. Happiness and enjoyment are a big part of the whole Poker Pro routine.
