Default Twice in one night..

Here is a second overpair I thought I played poorly. I would like to know how people would play this also:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter

MP3 ($23.15)
CO ($58.55)
Button ($64.38)
SB ($18.65)
BB ($31.5)
UTG ($24.75)
UTG+1 ($8.95)
UTG+2 ($23.75)
MP1 ($49.15)
Hero ($35.85)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.1.
UTG calls $0.25, 3 folds, Hero raises to $1, 1 fold, CO calls $1, 1 fold, SB (poster) calls $0.90, 1 fold, UTG calls $0.75.

Flop: ($4.25) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets $5, UTG folds, Hero raises to $10, CO folds, Hero calls $7.65.

Turn: ($26.90) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)

River: ($26.90) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: $26.90

I raised a buck, and the blinds were .10/.25. New structure at Party Poker. Did I truncate some other limpers that folded to my $1 bet or something? Lemme see the hand again..

I dont really get what you are asking here....did you have a read on your opponent..if not I fold. He could either have a set or Montrous draw that is a favorite to QQ...Its a judgement call but I probably fold here myself, this isnt a great flop for QQ.

My read, which ended up being correct was that he has a pair of jacks. Bets the pot on the flop. That usually means jacks. So I figure I have him beat and decide to put him to the test. I go all in, he of course calls with his J6, and rivers the runner-runner straight. I guess my question is what would be a better line of play in this situation? Is there one? Do I just cold call him or fold my overpair? What would you do..

any straight draw he has is a inside straight draw. if he has a flush draw + inside straight draw (ex KQs) or AKs (flush draw with clean overs), hes going to push you all in anyways and you are only coinflip against these hands.

This is assuming you think he will overbet the pot like this
with flush draw. typically I don't find this to be the case.
typically I see AJ here or two pair+ pretty often.

anyways, I just don't like going all in on the flop with 1 pair.

Flop is too coordinated to raise here. If he's holding the 10, that counterfeits any help you get from another Q, since it completes his straight. 2 spades on the board leave you vulnerable to the flush. He may have already flopped the str8. You probably do have the best hand, but you're extremely vulnerable.

How was this a bad reraise? Villan could have any number of hands: AJ, KJ, QJ, Tx, 2 spades not to mention a bunch of weirder hands like 87 (since it is party). There are only 5 hands hero is behind (JJ, 99, 88, QT, T7) significantly. I would also be inclined to think that if he had the straight he would be check to the preflop raiser. After villian bets 5 I would reraise him all in for the remaining 12. I think hero will most likely see a hand that he is ahead of and if he is behind i would be a suspect that it would be 2 pair, which he has quite a few outs against. Also, by not reraising your letting the CO in cheap if he has a draw like the T.
