Default Putting hand reading skills to work

This was a true and funny hand that happened last night. I have AQ in mp and raise, folded to blinds, SB calls BB who is a decent player re-raises and I call along w/ SB.

Flop comes

K-J-10 rainbow

SB checks BB bets, I raise, sb folds BB re-raises and I call intending to go to war on the turn. The turn card was another K, BB takes about 10 seconds to check and I check.

River brought a blank and he bets out, I muck my hand face up and say "you've got 4 Kings", he replies "damn it was it that obvious", laughs and shows the table his KK. If I could only do this every time I'd be a millionaire.

Kojak,
The only explanation that I can give you is that he took way too long to check when that K hit the turn, it was as if it caught him off guard and he didn't know what to do, therefore, I thought the only thing he's checking right there is 4 Kings.

DJ, it's amazing how similar this hand is to the one you posted a week or two ago when your opponent turned quad queens and you filled up on the river. Too bad you didn't make an equally good read in that hand, at least you learned from it.

The problem with this lay down in my opinion is that his turn check looks like it could be several other hands that you beat or tie. KQ would be a good hand in his spot to check and consistent with his play, AQ, QQ, 10J could also be played in this manner. I understand that you make some of these hands less likely by having a queen but I don't think KK is all that likely here. I think that laying down the flopped nuts on the river for one bet because you fear quads is perhaps a bit rash. Great read though
