i tend to raise 3x to eliminate some players. sometimes i'll raise even more if i'm a little scared about my hand so that i can knock out even more players.

If there's been a raise, I might raise a bit less than the pot, depending.

For an standard opening raise 4x seems about right, otherwise it depends how many callers you want- if i have AA i want one or two callers so i raise what i think will get this (barring tricky play).

Seriously with 6 limpers I might pull the old move of honor if Im in the blinds representing AK...youd be suprised by how many calls youll get from 10-10 9-9 j-j here after they limped. Of course this kinda crap worked best back in the old 25BB PP days when the pot was already decently large and therefore it could look like a semi-steal with AK.
