In limit poker, on the button, if you are given the choice between a pocket pair or AK, what would be the lowest pair you take?
I know there are a ton of variables about limits, opposition etc....but just thought it would be interesting to see the results. |

22 is a 6:5 favorite vs AK if played to the river.

If we're assuming that it's folded to me on the button, I'd take the pairs down to about 55 rather than the offsuit AK, and down to 77 rather than the AKs. It there are limpers (or especially a raise) ahead, the pairs would have to be much higher.

Short-handed I'd say 88 or 77. WIth many limpers I'd say 66.

But isn't the correct analysis to compare the difference between tha advantage of AK over a random hand, and 22 over a random hand?
