Adjustment going from Party $1/$2 to $2/$4?
Is it just me, or is $2/$4 way looser than $1/$2 on the Party skins? At 1/2 it seems like I had more success blind-stealing, isolation raising, etc, whereas now I feel like I'm getting greeted by a bunch of cold calls (or a reraise) every time I try. Anyone else find they needed to tighten up and play more straightforward when moving up to this level?
(Not to be results-oriented or anything, but probably part of why I'm posting this is that I'm down 46BB after a few hundred hands at $2/$4. I know this is just a blip, but I just wanted to plug any leaks before it gets worse.) |

There isn't much difference between 1/2 and 2/4 IMO.

Hell no. Play your normal game and you will be fine.

that doesn't mean anything...it could mean you were a little more lucky at 1/2

Fair enough then...I'll just keep doing what's worked for me before. I had way over 10000 hands at 1/2, so I like to think the luck thing is the other way around.
If the losing streak goes past 100BB, though, I may rest my fragile ego by moving back down for a while. |

Re: Adjustment going from Party $1/$2 to $2/$4?
Ironically enough, I've found the exact opposite. At 1/2, I'm getting called down all the time, so when I don't get the cards, I take losses - I think all the loose players are playing on the 6-max tables. I actually dabbled with 2/4 after getting disgusted at 1/2, and find I can win much more consistently there, and have since moved up completely. Much better when the loose players are scattered across all the tables like that.

There isn't much difference between 1/2 and 2/4 IMO. [/ QUOTE ] I totally disagree. They play very differently. Some people will have more success at 1/2 and some at 2/4. It's rare, I think, to find someone who was equally successful at both. Just as an aside, I hated 1/2. Probably -.5BB/100 over tiny sample. I skipped straight to 2/4 early and stuck around 3BB/100. Bison crushed the 1/2 game. And when he moved up to 2/4 he was a 1+BB/100 player initially. Again small samples. Krishan |

Re: Adjustment going from Party $1/$2 to $2/$4?
From the posts I've read on 2+2 the general consensus seems to be that the 1/2 Full games are tougher than the 2/4 games because the loose, action junkies are playing the 1/2 6 max tables.
