Re: Probably Not as high as you all think

but I am pretty sure the SATs were re-centered in the last 10 years or so. [/ QUOTE ] I think it was closer to 12-15 years ago. They were recentered while I was in college if I recall correctly. |

Re: Probably Not as high as you all think
[ QUOTE ]
Remeber, he probably took them a long time ago, when it was ALOT harder to hit the upper level ranges of the SATs. An 800 now in Math is alot easier to achieve than an 800 in Math was in those days; back then a 700 was a great score. Same goes for the verbal section. I am not 100% positive about this, as I was not alive back then, but I am pretty sure the SATs were re-centered in the last 10 years or so. [/ QUOTE ] Actually, its just the opposite. While a 1000 scorer before recentering is likely to have a bump of somewhere around 80 points, those at the 1350-1400 range would only see an increase in the 20-30 point range. Also, the recentering went in to effect around 96. I believe it was approved a couple of years before. I was a cronic underachiever in High School, but had a lot of ability. I has ALOT riding on my SATs |

Re: Probably Not as high as you all think
The test was changed to boost the average score by about 100 points in May 1995.
