I think it's pretty obvious I meant to bet FIFTY CENTS, not FIVE DOLLARS, even though I clearly hit the period key. apparently you have to be EXTREMELY deliberate in hitting period in order for it to register.

I've done the same thing before. The issue is that when you type a bet, the software won't recognise a period as the first character of the bet - you MUST enter a leading zero (or enter the 5 then move the cursor and enter the period.

Get in the habit of typing 0.5 rather than .5 and you won't have the problem any more.
