You're right, sorry (didn't even consider the rake). I just played there once with my father in-law because he wanted to learn. I just thought that since the game was filled with beginners it might be a good place to start.

I'll agree with my fellow Horn fan and say the IP. It's a comfortable place to get your feet wet. The Aladdin also is a good choice.

I think he should support our fellow 2+2'er Al_Cappone by playing at the Alladin.

I'll just tack a similar question on to this post. Where is the best (read loosest) place to play 1/2 NL?

EDIT: also, I know all about allvegaspoker, I'm just looking for some more current answers.

Well I deal at the Aladdin, and these games are super easy. They play like 2/4. Calling any face cards to the river, bottom pairs, runner runner draws and so on. I see the better players pick up 200-600 at any given time.

Naa.... of course I don't! But the average 2+2'er probably knows Cappone by now, his Avatar doesn't hurt either. You are still getting up there in your posts mate!

PS: Photoc rules... I met him with Al_Cappone, and had a blast playing craps with them both. I highly reccomend playing anywhere Photoc & Cappone work, their knowlege of the game's rules is outstanding, and customer service ideal. Plus they are both 2+2ers!

Photoc, were you dealing Saturday, Feb 26? I was at the third table from the entrance playing 2-4, I was wearing a gray jacket.

I played 1/2 NL at Bally's recently, it was pretty easy. Although their poker area is pretty small, and they only run that game on one table so you might not always be able to find it.

To actually beat?

LOL!

Ok, Sahara is #1 on my LOUSY typical table list, definitely go there, and it's also a cheapo but nice place to stay, ask for food comp every day after 3 hours of play, the cafe across from the room is open 24/7 and the chow is VERY GOOD vs typical cheapo vegas cuisine.

Stay away from the locals joints and you are probably alright...

Any of the newer rooms are probably excellent, such as the RIO.

Also, the places are definitely more fishy after 7pm.

Best of luck, 2/4 is a sucky game, but if you must....

Luxor has 1/2 and Excalibur has 1-3 spread, as alternatives.

Stardust is 3/6 only and Circus Circus is 3/6 and both would be reasonable but both still allow smoking and are a bit drab, with CC being worst and apparently CC has the worst buffet, so don't DO IT! Avoid all intestinal challenges! 8)
