Suggestions for a good chair for poker
I am planning on going to office depot tomorrow and investing in a good chair to play poker in. I was wondering what kind of suggestions you guys had.
One note: no leather. I don't buy leather products. It's a personal thing along with my vegetarianism, but I'm not preachy about it. (Good natured flaming in this regard is both welcome, and likely inevitable -- I do have a sense of humor ). |

Is price an issue? If it isn't, get an Aeron.

I should have mentioned price. I am willing to make an investment of probably ~$150.

Re: Suggestions for a good chair for poker
I test drove a couple of the ergonomic mesh backed ones. Nice and comfy . . . but I ended up going leather with 2 back massagers. 'Ass meet chair, chair this is ass, get acquainted, you'll be spending a lot of time together'

Re: Suggestions for a good chair for poker
I actually bought a chair on eBay a few weeks ago and it's pretty comfortable.
There are a bunch of people on eBay selling this chair: here's a link to the first one I found for sale. |

You will probably like the mesh ones, they fit nice when I sat on them. Although the leather massage chair was just to hard to pass up.

Re: Suggestions for a good chair for poker
I sell furniture at Office MAX as a part time job. Get something with a low, wide back, it's more ergonomic. Also, look for something with adjustible arms. You want the level of the arms to be higher than your keyboard tray to prevent carpal tunnel.
bdk3clash- How much you pay for that chair? If its the one I'm thinking of (OM-200) Office Max sells it for $59.99 |

Re: Suggestions for a good chair for poker
Leather massage at office depot is awesome, I don't use the massage thing because you have to plug it into the wall which is kinda dumb but it was a good price and I was so thankful I had it when I sprained my back the next day. Oh yah, you are a pansy for not buying leather

Re: Suggestions for a good chair for poker
Not be fussy or start a semantic flame war, but if you really want to “invest” in a chair the disposable kind at the local office supply store is not the way to go. I did a lot of research on high-end ergonomic chairs a few months ago ... you might be able to find the post with Search.
The short story -- There are three top chairs: Freedom Chair, Aeron Chair, and Leap Chair. My very contented butt (and back and shoulders and arms and neck) now resides in a Freedom Chair, complete with gel seat and arms. It has a lifetime guarantee. |

Re: Suggestions for a good chair for poker
Thanks for the post Terry. Where did you get the chair and what was the cost?
