Default Overbetting with the Nuts

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $6 BB (9 handed) converter

UTG1($479.5)
MP1 ($120)
MP2 ($329.5)
MP3 ($755)
CO ($611)
Button ($2514)
SB ($948.5)
Hero ($2379.6)
UTG ($724.25)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
6 Folds, Button raises to $20, 1 Fold , Hero reraises to $80. Button calls $60.

Flop: ($160) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $130, Button calls $130.

Turn: ($420) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $350, Button calls $350.

River: ($1120) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero goes All-In $1819.6, Button calls All-In $1819.6

Final Pot: $4759.2

A few notes: I have a fairly Laggy image at the table, I have been pushing around a couple of fairly passive players with overbets postflop.

I also have been at the table with the villain in this hand for a while and he has been raising every time it's been folded to him in CO or the Button. I had pushed him out of a sizable pot on the river an orbit ago, using almost the exact betting pattern. He flashed a set of Jacks as he folded and mentioned he was insta-calling me next time I tried something like that again.

I can tell you he didn't have a set of jacks when he folded.

You reraise to $80 with 65s and you say you have a "fairly" LAGgy image? Thats funny

Is this a new feature on party tables, to show and fold?

hi, fairly new to no limit

it seems to me this is a fairly easy turn check
(1) you don't mind if he takes a free card to catch up
(2) he might bluff
(3) he'll certainly fold a lot of hands if he doesn't have an ace
(4) he'll bet with any hands he'll call with (ace, straight, 2 pair or better)

The river overbet is nice. He might even call with the K.

nice hand and all but i really dont think this was an example of an overbet with the nuts, I HIGHLY doubt he called with anything other than the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], so he has the 2nd best hand next to your 56 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], either way all the money is getting in the middle, if he had something like the Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] then nice bet but I cant see him showing anything other then the ace high flush. Also I dont love the raise pre to play that hand out of position but whatever. The villian was more a victim of circumstances than anything here.

I really don't understand your river bet. Forget what he said about instacalling you next time:

i) Given the way this hand had played out, he will only call your overbet with the Ace.

ii) He will bet the Ace.

Or was this all part of a plan to set him up for future plays?
