Default Help Becoming a Better Player - Comments Please...

Would you experts please comment on my stats? I have been playing for 3 months now, and need to improve upon my play and get into the green.

Thanks in advance for your comments

I know. I know. You'd rather play at my table than fix my game...

Check the FAQ -

Your VPIP is a tad high. Your VPIP in the SB is way too high. You need to pre-flop raise a WHOLE lot more. What's your aggression stats?

There isn't much I can tell you from just looking at that. My VPIP is a bit higher than yours, but you might do well to lower yours for now. Your PFR is low as well, suggesting you might play slightly loose-passive poker, which is an easy way to lose money.

I'd suggest reading Small Stakes Hold'em by Miller, Sklansky, and Malmuth, or if you haven't done any reading, picking up Low Limit Hold'em by Jones.

VPIP may be a 1-3 points too high (I realize 50 cent is very loose).

I think you complete your SB a little too much

why are your folded to steals from SB and BB the same. Defend w/ BB more than SB.

Raise more to steal preflop. Raise more preflop period. I can name the exact 6 or 7 hands you raise preflop with.

Your went to showdown should be a little higher, as should your Won $ at showdown.

Have the same read. Your VP$IP is Litte high but not so bad. 18-20% is where you should be.

Your SB VP$IP is Horrible. Could be sloe reason your down money.

You need to be more aggressive also.

Read the sticky thread faq at the top of the forum.

You're too loose from the SB and don't raise enough pf.

The single best thing you can do is read SSH and post comments on threads here. (Please don't start a million threads as the existing ones have much to teach us all) Ask questions make suggestions. This forum can change your game if you are willing to particiapte.

Very good book about 3/4 way though. Jones and Doyle where my 1st 2 to read in Full. Others of thumb though that plan reading in full are Super Syetem 2, Ken Warner, Phil H. JR (I know a lot don't like book). And couple others... Remeber don't play like the book. Just use the information in it.

Thanks for all of the comments. I appreciate the constructive criticism. Someone asked about my aggression:

Flop 1.24
Turn 1.26
River 1.05
Total 1.20

I'll follow your suggestions. Hopefully the tweaks will be smaller after the next 10K checkup!

Again Thanks.

Way too low. At least 2+ for each one.

i think the VPIP is fine.. mine is about the same. You are way to passive dude calling with hands you should raise and you aren't protecting the hands you do make on the flop.

Those books will help but play your strong hands stronger. If you think "if i check and its bet i'll call" on the flop you should probably bet out.

What are your fold stats?
