Given your description i'd push it in on the flop, if you really don't think he wont call, I like the flat call with the intention of making a bet or getting it all in on the turn.

you created a $600 pot on the flop with $470 behind in the lesser stack....

yeah, I know Matt - that's exactly the thing I thought of after the hand.....it was one of those hands where in my mind, I was playing a small pot, and treating it like a small pot....but because this jackass played it the way he did, the pot actually became quite large (as you said, compared to the lesser stack size)....

so I was thinking about the hand after the session when all this ocurred to me.....I think if we both had like another $3k behind, my action is fine (though I still think I could've made another bet somewhere)....I've just been in such "playing with deep stacks" mode lately - with particular regards to playing one-pair hands (i.e. - doing unorthodox things to keep the pot small, etc.) and, also, it had been awhile since I had played with such a fish that the proper way to approach the hand took me by surprise....

what actually made me think about it was "Small Stakes Hold'em" by Ed Miller.....I'm kinda checking out the book for fun right now (even though I almost never play limit) because I know Ed is a friend of a friend of mine and also because I heard it's really good.....and he does a lot of emphasizing of "protect big pots"....and the two things I muffed on the hand in question was 1) failed to recognize just how big the pot really was and 2) didn't protect it accordingly.....

I believe this is the first time I've ever actually replied to a thread in this particular forum where I wasn't asking a question, but I have intimate knowledge of the fish you described. I play with guys like that constantly.

Even though you called his flop check/raise, if you trust your read I move in on the turn. I'm guessing he'll think you're trying to bully him around and any piece (which in this case he has) will induce him to call. I don't think at these limits guys like this come around often but the lower limits of online NL are infested with them.
