PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (7 handed) converter

MP1 ($23.50)
MP2 ($9.40)
CO ($11.15)

BB ($11.25)
UTG ($4.10)

Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP2 calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $1</font>, Hero calls $0.90, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP2 folds.

Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets $5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $22.95</font>, Button calls $17.95.

River: ($56.40) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

Final Pot: $56.40

This hand drove me crazy. I came over the top on the turn after very weak play preflop and postflop, and Button thinks FOREVER before calling. Any and all advice on this hand would be greatly appreciated.

Fold the flop, overbet often is something that won't be folded.

Any information on the villain? Assuming a standard player, his overbet of the pot on the flop screams overpair to me. I think it's tougher to get away with these big overbets in 6max... that being said, he made a questionable call. I hope you were able to sting him later on.

By the way... was this fellow stealing blinds regularly from the button? If so, you might have wanted to re-raise him preflop, just to see where he was at... I would say reraise to about $3-$4.

I would open bet the flop. If called, an over pair is very likely and I would fold to any real agression. Now that you checked the flop, I fold to his over bet. You don't have odds to chase a straight and the overbet in my experience rarely is over cards but more likely over pair.
