Would you fold or put him all-in? (Opinions on a hand)
At this point some players have gone out and its 7 handed. You have a slightly better then average stack and the villain has about half as many as you.
Some info to keep in mind is that of the 7 remaining players, at least 3 are short stacked and/or total dead money. 1st(75%) and 2nd(25%) pay, not 3rd. Hero - 1500 Villain - 850 Blinds are 30/60 - Villain calls the BB (60). - SB folds. - Hero checks in the BB (60) with 64o. Two way action. Flop comes KQ4 rainbow. Hero checks and Villain checks. Corner 4. Hero checks. Villain bets the minimum (60). Hero check raises (180 total). Villain re-raises (400 total). Put him all-in? Fold? I don't see calling but curious as to what others think. Putting him all-in is about half your stack. |

I don't think I fold here. The only thing that beats you is villain holding pocket queens or kings. Wouldnt he have raised pre-flop with that?
I would push here with my set and put him all in. |

Do you have a read on the player? What position is he in? Would he normally limp in with 74, 84, 94?

If he's stupid enough to limp with a 4 in his hand, he's stupid enough to pay you off with just a K in his hand. You can account for 3 of the 4 4's so the chance that he has the case 4 is low. I'd put him in everytime here. If he has me beat then so be it.

He would limp with Q4, K4 suited, no question. I dont think he would limp with 74 or 94 but that wasny my main concern. I was just saying that in my mind, my hand was not as strong as it seemed upon first glance (in my mind).

74, 84, 94 are all split pots (KQ444). The only hands you are worried about are A4, K4, Q4, QQ, KK. I'd say A4 is the only likely hand but not likely enough for me to fold...push away.

74 and better are only split pots if the river is lower then his kicker..if the river is a 2 or 3 then I lose.

I think you have to push here even if he limps in with K4, Q4 (frequently). Like Rob said, the chances he has the other 4 are slim. It's much more probable that he has K5> or Q5>. Maybe a small pocket pair. Either way you have him beat here and I push.

Board...KQ44, You hold 64, he holds 94, your hands are both QK444. Both have trips with KQ kickers. [ QUOTE ] He would limp with Q4, K4 suited, no question. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but would he check through on the flop with 2 pair. Is he that tricky? |
