I probably would have check/raised the turn and called down a 3-bet. Betting the river seems pretty silly after he caps the turn. You are probably behind in this spot unless he is a total LAG.

You guys would call this preflop? I'd chuck it. Should I be calling here?

a read would be helpful, but the first call is close... with two other likely callers this isn't terrible. typically you don't cold call 66, no. particularly from MP1.

The preflop call is correct and it isn't even close. We are getting no worse then 4.75:1 on our call right now. If the BB takes the plunge we are getting 5.25:1. The way people siphon off bets postflop, not calling here is costing you. Brad |

A small pair is a flop or fold hand. Suppose the raiser shows you he has pocket aces. Does that change anything? Either you flop a set or you fold. The only thing you care about preflop is that five or more people see the flop to give you proper odds.
And if you are headsup against a raiser, you are favorred as long as he doesn't have an overpair. |

I see your point. My preflop play was initially learned by rote memorization so the old brain falls back on that instead of using common sense

[/ QUOTE ] For the love of all that is good, someone stop this guy from posting incorrect information. With 66 you are not favored against someone who raises pf, if that were the case you would 3bet, you are most likely even money, but that doesnt even matter in this case because the field is large and all he cares about is hitting his set. |
