Default Paradise Poker - Am I crazy?

Hi All,

I mostly read the forums and do not post much, but I wanted to see if I could get some feedback.

I consider myself a fairly good player. In the long run, I have made a fair bit of money playing. I made a deposit on Paradise taking advantage of thier re-load bonus for superbowl and started playing the 2/4 games.

I am usually a tight aggressive player and have played for a few years and read quite a few books. I do not think that I am a fish by any means. The problem that I ran into is that while I won some hands, I lost alot. It I had a pair, I would get killed by a better hand usually on the river or in some way.

After losing about $500 on the site, I said enough is enough and cashed out (never to go back again?) I just wanted to see if other usually winning players out there have experienced this type of bad run where anything they play turns to crap?

After I cashed out, I put in $400 at Empire and in about 1 hr, I was up $100. I don't get it. Am I crazy?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hommer

Yes, you are crazy. Good runs happen, and bad runs happen. Paradise is a legit site, and I have run very well there in the past, Empire is a legit site, and I am running very bad their at the moment.

I don't know if you're crazy or not. I do know you can't blame a specific site for your downswings. They are a part of the game.

My bankroll got started at Paradise. I built it up at the limit tables from $150 to $2000 before I switched to Party. I don't see any reason to play at Paradise however as the games are more live and more plentiful at Party.

It's either short-term variance or Paradise Poker is rigged.

I'll take the former.

Thank you for the feedback so far.

I am not saying that poker is rigged or that a site is rigged or any such thing. I just was looking for simple feedback. What I am asking more clearly is if you've experienced a bad run as I have mentioned and I guess, if the players at Paradise are above the average?

Thanks
Hommer

Of course. Every player will experience downswings; that's life in the big city.

As for Paradise having better players, I doubt it, but I haven't played there enough to know.

My worst run on Party was just about -150 BB. This is slightly worse than your downswing and I've heard of MUCH worse.

Oh, and I had a -100 BB downswing from late Friday to Sunday morning (yesterday). You get used to it, sort of. Promise.

I've only been playing full time since October. The bigger ones will come and oh boy I can't wait.
