Default Re: Where should a PP 2/4 player play in vegas?

I too play mostly PP 2/4 and beat the game fairly consistently. Anyway, I was in Vegas for a week last month and (almost)all the games I played in were far softer than Party 2-4. I played the following:

Monte Carlo 2-4: Loose and passive (i loved the room)
Monte Carlo 4-8: a little tighter and more aggressive than the 2-4 but still easier than PP 2-4.

Imperial Palace 2-4 and 3-6: By far the worst players I encountered. Routinely saw 7-8 to each flop.

Rio 3-6: Only played once for about 3 hours. The table was loose, aggressive, and profitable.

Mandalay Bay 4-8: I played ALOT here. Mostly loose and passive with a few LAG's sprinkled here and there. Great room, with good eye candy nearby.

Mirage 3-6: The only tight game I sat in, but it was just one game for a couple hours.

Bellagio: I did not play here (believe it or not). Went in once, there was a 30-45 minute wait for 4-8 and I didn't like the vibe of the room. Too many people, packed in too tightly.

As I mentioned, and the posters above said, all of these games were easy for a winner at PP 2-4. Overall I played about 50 hours and made $600. But since this was my first B&M trip I was a little nervous and stayed at the smaller stakes. Next time (september) I will try some higher stakes, probably Bellagio 8-16 or Mirage 10-20.

Good luck, let us know how you do.

I'm a mediocre to good PP 2/4 player. I'm going to Vegas in 2 weeks. I was planning on playing at the Mirage 3/6.

The skill level of the Mirage 3/6 is equal to .01/.02 online.

What Vegas games compare to PP 2/4?

[/ QUOTE ]

The 10/20 Mirage game, and I'm not being funny.

When I first opened this thread, I was expecting a lot more 8/16 -> 10/20 recommendations.

I was in Vegas last August for the first time and thats what I played mainly. 2-4 and 3-6 peppered a little bit. And played one session of 4-8 at the Bellagio. Couldn't leave vegas with out playing at the Bellagio Anyways hope this helps. One thing to Note. I hear just about all the major strip Casino's have poker now so I don't know about what they have. I'll just tell you what I experienced.

3-6 Mirage is a pretty good game.

The best 2-4 action anywhere I saw was at the Sahara. Just some incredible action.

The NL when they spread it after the tournaments they run is also very good as well at the Sahara. Usually 100 or 200 NL.

Gold Spike has some decent 2-4 games downtown.

Good tournament games and decent ring games at The Orleans Casino.

Excalibur has some sweet games too for NL and spread Limit. I would highly recomend the Excalibur as well.

I was only able to play poker at 11 casino's while I was there but I had a great time and the one's I mentioned above stuck out in my mind.

Good Luck in Vegas.

SinCityGuy has more experiance than I have in Vegas, but if you like passive tables then the Bellagio 8/16 is the way to go. The Mirage 10/20 had fewer to the flop in my very limited experiance, hence smaller pots.

I made a mistake.

Instead of Gold Spike, I meant The Golden Nugget right across from Binions.
