3betting this turn would be bad. given the strength he's shown so far, hes basically telling you he probably has better than one-pair. if not and you're made to look like a waek-tight fool, then so be it. take notes on him.

Listen to fish daddy, guys. 3-betting this turn against an unknown is not the smartest move.

I forget about the board pairing on the river. So yes, you're right that a cap should be called for one more bet on the turn due to the odds of the board pairing plus the trip outs.

But I'd still consider raising the flop bet simply because in my experience with 1/2 I'm often raised with a wide range of hands, many of which I'm beating.

I ended up calling down, I just couldn't put him on a hand that I beat, I didn't think he'd raise me with even AJ.

If I had some more reads on this player it would have made the turn a lot easier to play.

Anyways, after calling down river was a rag and he showed me AA to take the pot.

Thanks for the advice all.

Then you thank him for Saving you 1 BB (one preflop where he should have 3 bet and you should have capped, and one on the flop where he should have 3-bet and you should have capped, minus the one he got on the turn for the c/r).

I have to laugh even when I lose to slowplayed Aces. You'll take his money later.

I guess this is a point where we'll have to disagree. Beeing ahead 66% of the time when we raise preflop, get bet into on the flop but still raise, get check/raise on the turn. We're not anywhere near 66% IMO.

We weren't C/R'ed here - the raise came from the Button.

I think I call this down against an unknown every time.

Thanks. I believe the strength button shows by calling 2 cold on the flop and then raise the turn is about equal to what the check/raise would have shown, though.

Yeah, raising an unknown here is not an option for me.
