Re: How many ways did I botch this hand?

What about reads on player???? If villian is tight and in the EP he will almost always have overcards. Why is the an ALWAYS raise? [/ QUOTE ] Have you seen what typical people limp with? K5, J7, A3... You are hoping to get HU with position against an lesser hand with dead money in the middle. Why not always raise? B |

B/c your still a favorite against overcads and you can get dead money in pot if the blinds fold.

Re: How many ways did I botch this hand?
OK, typical in a B&M. But I've been running into a lot of tight passives on PP 2/4 lately. I guess I might just be too intimidated my mice/rocks.

[/ QUOTE ] Not only that, but mid pocket pairs have a lot better chances of holding up against one player. A limp in this spot is terrible. Raise here and try to get it heads up. On the hand though: 3 things 1. raise PF 2. bet flop 3. cap river |

RESULTS and my two cents worth
The last two responses are dead on correct.
PREFLOP: I was braindead for not raising preflop. Should definitely have sought a HU situation. FLOP: I should have made the draws pay a dear price and allow any queen to start warring with me starting on the flop. RIVER: I am only marginally thrilled about the cap on the river for one reason. SB had played pretty well in earlier hands and nearly fell out of his seat reraising the river. However, that is partially a result oriented response. In truth, I think it is an EV+ cap on the river. RESULTS: SB turns up Pocket Tens and Button turns over A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Based upon my reads to that point, if I raise pf and bet the flop, I believe SB check/folds the turn and I win the hand. SB apologized for 30 mins and I tell him he played it right and I blew the hand! UGH live and learn. |

bet the flop [/ QUOTE ] Agreed especially if you're the type of player to bet the flop after raising pre-flop even when you miss. |

[ QUOTE ] bet the flop [/ QUOTE ] Agreed especially if you're the type of player to bet the flop after raising pre-flop even when you miss. [/ QUOTE ] That should be 100% of the players on this forum when they are last to act after raising preflop in 3 handed situations. |
