Lexington, KY
I'm headed to Lexington in a few weeks on a business trip. I thought I read somewhere that there were some riverboats/casinos in the area, but I can't find any listings in the PokerPages cardroom directory. Any help here??

Re: Lexington, KY
Lexington is in the center of a state that has no gambling. However, Louisville is near Caesar's Indiana. Also, near Cincinnati, Rising Sun Casino has one as well. Both casinos are in Indiana. I would talk to steamboatin, as he is a regular at both casinos.

Re: Lexington, KY
either one is a bit of a drive from lexington. I have to map it to see which is closer but Grand Victoria in Rising Sun is fishier.

Re: Lexington, KY
Lexinton, KY to Rising Sun, In 106 miles
Lexington, KY to Caesar's IN 88 miles According to Microsoft Map Point Caesar's In is ten minutes faster. Risning Sun is going to have $5-10 and 10-20 maybe a stud game but probably not. Caesar's In will have 3-6, 5-10, 10-20, maybe 20-40 usually a 2-10 stud game and often a 30-60 stud game. There is almost always a No Limit game in the evenings, $2&5 blinds and $200 minimum buyin. Wednesday is Pot Limit Omaha and the pots get really big. Numerous times the pot has reached $10,000. I usually play 3-6. |

Re: Lexington, KY
Thanks for the low down. It may be that I have to swing through Cincinnati in any case, so I'll check them out...

Re: Lexington, KY
Ok, So they moved my meeting from Lexington, to Louisville. From the other postings on the board it looks like Cesears IN is actually across the river from Louisville, is that correct?
Are the games worth it on a Monday night? (the only night I'll be in town). Thanks again for the help |

Re: Lexington, KY
Yes, cross the Ohio river on I-64 West and take the New Albany Exit, turn right at the stop light, turn right on Main St at Ninny's diner and follow the river.

Re: Lexington, KY
I have been there twice, before the WPT and Moneymaker et al made Hold'em the game to play.
One night, playing the low limit stud game ($4/$8?) I catch 62o in the hole, and a 2 up. I make my mandatory bring in bet, player to my left (PTML) raises to $4, 2 callers back to me. I briefly consider folding, but decide it is only 1/2 a bet to call, and I might get lucky (I knew nothing about pot odds back then) so I call. 4th street brings the 3rd duece, things are looking up!!! PTML leads out, player to my right (PTMR) calls, I raise, 2 callers. 5th street brings a beautiful 6, giving me the boat. PTML bets, PTMR calls, I raise, PTML re-raises, PTMR calls, I re-raise, it gets capped with 3 to 6th street. On 6th street, PTML catches a 2nd Q up (his first up card was a Q also). He leads out, PTMR calls, I raise, PTML re-raises, PTMR folds, I re-raise, PTML caps. I suddenly realize that PTML has a hand, probably a boat as well. 7th street is dealt, I am shuffling my hole cards (hadn't looked), PTML bets out, I look at him and tell him he has a FH that is bigger than my FH, but I have to call (still haven't looked). He flips over a Q high FH, I tell him I had my FH on 5th street, and flip over my hole cards. CASE DEUCE BABY!!! The old man (PTML) talked about my quads beating his FH the rest of the night, and never played another pot with me. Since I have "learned" how to play poker, I haven't had the good fortune of hitting quads when someone else had a good hand. I might play the river a little differently...lol |

Re: Lexington, KY
Thanks. Looks like its about a half hour from downtown. Are there any shuttles or tour groups etc that run out there, or am I better off paying the $30 for a rental car?
I'll be staying downtown, probably near the waterfront. |

Re: Lexington, KY
Probably should give them a call. I don't know about shuttle schedules.
