I'll at least mention the Fairfield Grand Desert Resort which is about 1/2 mile east of the Strip. I have no idea what the accomodations are like. But, I assume that the best of their rooms are very good.

Not even close

Blue Moon Resort

I found this place on Travelaxe about a year ago and thought it was a joke, but apparently they are for real.

I guess the reason is that I want to go to Vegas to play poker, but I'm also looking for a more relaxing long weekend than I think I will have staying in one of the strip hotels...i'm taking a solo trip, so I won't be out boozing with friends late, and I would just like somewhere to come back to that is peaceful. Maybe I'm getting old.

Thanks, all, for the suggestions.
