Default 99 on 7, 8, 9 flop...

Not sure how I played this, when I play it back I don't like it, so would like ideas on what to do different. I think either I keep going on the turn, or just call down the flop raise. But despite decent boat outs, i got all scared...

bet the turn.

the only hand that could pass you with that turn card is QQ. that seems highly unlikely.

I think you bet out the turn and then let the action behind you dictate how you play the rest of the hand. If you get raised on the turn (especially after showing agression on the flop) I think you are likely behind. Still, I call the turn raise and then check/call the river unimproved.

I bet the turn here, too. The river card is the worst possible card to come off. I check/call most of the time.

Why did you 3-bet the flop out of position and not lead the turn when a pretty harmless card fell?

Thats what I'm trying to figure out

On the turn I was thinking any flush or staight draw would raise me, so a 3-bet was good. On the turn I thought any made flush or straight was ahead of me so got all weak and called down, hoping for the board to pair.

I knew I played it wrong, so came here to find out where.

Turns out he had T J for the flopped straight.
