Default K9 with flopped trips

I limped in EP with K9s because it was a very LP table with little preflop raising. How did I play it from the flop on?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter

SB ($108.6)
BB ($15.6)
UTG ($33.9)
Hero ($47.95)
UTG+2 ($20.65)
MP1 ($82.05)
MP2 ($23.75)
MP3 ($27.25)
CO ($69.7)
Button ($30.05)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, UTG+2 calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, SB (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($2.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font>
SB checks, BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $0.5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $3</font>, UTG+2 folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls $2.50.

Turn: ($8.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $5</font>, UTG calls $5.

River: ($18.50) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $10</font>, UTG folds.

Final Pot: $28.50

wtf could Villain have had? Maybe a little less on the river? You might get a call from QJ. I like it though.

Fold pre-flop. Especially from UTG+1. After that you played it fine, but yeah, maybe bet a little less on the river.

Dunno. But his VPIP is 66%, so that covers a pretty wide range of hands. I agree with your point that my river bet was a bit big, given that I wanted a call.

I'm going to hijack my own thread with another hand. Please let me know how I played this one:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter

UTG+1 ($27.3)
UTG+2 ($23.45)
MP1 ($31.85)
Hero ($42.55)
MP3 ($28.15)
CO ($102.7)
Button ($11.3)
SB ($34.35)
BB ($52.1)
UTG ($24.25)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, UTG+1 calls $0.50, UTG+2 calls $0.50, MP1 calls $0.50, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $4</font>, MP3 calls $4, CO calls $4, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, Hero calls $7.30, MP3 calls $7.30, CO calls $7.30.

Flop: ($36.65) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
Hero checks, MP3 checks, <font color="#CC3333">CO bets $5</font>, Hero calls $5, MP3 folds.

Turn: ($46.65) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
CO folds (after Hero moves all-in -- don't know why the converter missed this)

River: ($46.65) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

Final Pot: $46.65 (actually $81.35)

On the flop, I actually forgot that the PF reraiser was already all-in. Otherwise, I would have bet out. On the turn, I tried to make up for my mistake by representing it as a slowplay, in the hope that CO would fold TP if that's all he had.

The preflop action is all messed up, but I don't think I will like it when I can figure out what it is. Too big an initial raise, and I think you got re-raised and called with short stacks which is not good.

Sorry. I didn't notice the mess preflop. There were 4 limpers in front of me. I raised to $4, got 2 callers behind me plus an $11.30 all-in. The original limpers all folded. I and the other 2 players behind me called the raise to $11.30. (When I only called, I expected to end up heads-up with the reraiser, and was surprised when those who called my initial raise called the reraise. Should I have moved in instead? Should I have folded?)

I'm a newbie to NL, so I made the initial big raise because I had read in response to a post I made a couple of days ago that 4xBB + 1BB/limper was a good PF raise size at these limits when holding a big PP. (I'm assuming I remembered this correctly, but can't guarantee it.) I had been criticized for just raising $2 holding AA with 2 or 3 limpers in front of me.

Ah....ok. 4xBB+1BB per limper is fine. But that should be your raise all the time, not just when you have big pairs. Personally, I think it is a little big, so I take a BB or two off that (i.e. I raise the pot) but that is fine. Then I didn't realise you got re-raised by a short stack. But yes, that seems to be a push or fold situation. I would probably just push. Try to convince someone with KQ, AQ to fold.
