Default How much does a poker room personell get paid?

I know that we have some dealers who frequent these boards as well as others in the casino industry.

I was just wondering if anyone knows how much on average a poker room manager gets paid in a major LV or AC casino? What about a 'floor' in places that don't rotate dealers onto the floor? What about dealers (I have always assumed 15 hands/half hour, $1/ hand so about $30/hr)?

at tstone, my understanding is that the floor is making about 15hr or so. a good dealer averages $22/hr after salary. if a dealer dealt 20/40 all day then they would probably average $35/hr, but they get stiffed at their 1/3 tables and get tipped practically nothing for tournaments.

I've talked with some of TStone dealers about this. The consensus I have found is that the dealers make more money, but work considerably harder than the floor people. And as MBD said, some of the low limit tables and the tournaments are worthless for tips.

FWIW, one dealer who just got promoted to floor manager seemed pretty happy about it.

there are 2 dealers who just got promoted to floor managers, and they are both ecstatic. ive spoken to some of the dealers and they said they would rather not be a floor manager, because they enjoy being at the table in the middle of the action. i would consider the floor managers jobs to be considerably easy in comparison to dealers. there are many hours of the day in which a floor manager goes about watching tv, chatting about etc.

Also, remember that in an 8 hour shift a dealer won't get 16 - 30 minute "downs". Besides lunch and a couple breaks, there probably won't be enough action to keep all dealers busy for all possible "downs". Ultra small pots normally don't generate tokes, and chopped pots definitely don't.

and chopped pots definitely don't

in the games i play (20/40) split pots are good for dealers, as both players usually tip.

I've played in 2/5 games that tip better than some 20/40.

Whoops. I meant chopped antes.

I was thinking about the number of hands that a dealer can get out in a down and how it takes time to shuffle, cut and deal a hand that ends in chopped antes. Also, everytime someone calls for and gets a new setup usually takes away one potential toke.
